If you follow my work you will notice that I roll about all over the place in terms of techniques and resources. I simply cannot churn out the same type of outcome over and over as I like to explore and learn new skills and experiment with materials.
Having spent the past few months painting, I am stepping back over to textiles and the joy of 3 dimensional work. I have always loved the tactile nature of soft sculptures and been fascinated by the ways of manipulating fabric to achieve exciting outcomes. I do not set out with a plan in mind; usually I just play, see what happens and enjoy the journey of discovery. If I feel I can offer this to you, I can pop items in my shop.
So, at the moment I am working on Nature Cups! You know I love to repurpose and use found objects; so this time I am creating gorgeously tactile segments of woodland floor, in a cup that has so much more left to do with it’s life. As usual, each is unique and therefore it’s value is warm like soup on a winter evening.
You can display them, run your fingers over them and remind yourself of the beauty that we often overlook beneath our feet.
